Our amaranth sprays is from German cultivation and naturally untreated for the benefit of your animals.

Unlike many cereals, amaranth does not belong to the sweet grasses, but to the foxtail family. Therefore, it belongs to the so-called pseudocereals and is gluten-free. Since amaranth originally comes from Mexico, it is often called the ancient grain of the Aztecs. The primitive people considered this valuable grain to be sacred.

The high protein content of the amaranth seeds of 14.6 % makes it attractive. The amaranth seeds also contain unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids and are rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium, zinc and iron.

In addition to the healthy nutritional values, amaranth offers your animals a high employment value. Around 1,500 grains make just one gram. Birds and rodents will therefore enjoy the spikes for a long time.

Note

Amaranth in the panicle has spiky stems. Our clever animals usually cope better with this than their owners. Therefore, please do not grab it when unpacking it! If you want to be on the safe side, you can also get loose amaranth seeds from us as a single component.

Tolle Farbe

Der Amaranth hat eine tolle Farbe und bietet Natürlichkeit im Hamstergehege. Die Ähren sind gut erhalten und haben sogar noch heile Blätter.

Ein bissel Abwechslung für Wellensittiche (Achtung, die Rispen stechen)

Es ist nicht die beliebteste Rispe bei Wellensittichen, aber ab und zu wird es gern mal beknabbert. Ein bisschen Abwechslung tut den Wellis nicht schlecht!
