Canary seed in the ear (glossy seed) Supplementary feed for rodents & birds
Canary seed in the ear, also known as glossy seed, is a natural supplementary feed for ornamental birds and rodents. The seed remains in its original spike shape and thus enables particularly species-appropriate feeding. Animals can remove the grains from the ear themselves, which corresponds to their natural feeding behaviour and at the same time provides meaningful activity.
The nutrient-rich seeds are readily accepted by many bird species such as canaries and parakeets as well as small rodents.
The natural pecking and nibbling instinct is encouraged and activity is supported by the independent extraction of the seeds.
Sensitive animals also benefit from the gentle, untreated quality.
The canary seed is free from additives. As it is a purely natural product, slight visual changes may occur due to weather conditions. For example, rain can cause darker or partially black-coloured patches to appear. These natural discolourations are harmless and have no influence on the quality or suitability for feeding.
The seed is ideal as a supplement to the daily main feed and can be offered regularly in small quantities. Fresh drinking water should be available at all times.
A natural snack that combines nutrition and activity in a sensible way.
