Cocksfoot - Knaul grass

Cocksfoot, also known as Poa pratensis, is a perennial plant from the sweet grass family (Poaceae). It is common in many parts of the world and the seed is often used as feed for pets such as hamsters, dwarf hamsters, rats, mice, budgerigars, cockatiels, agapornids, pink cockatoos, barred parrots, parrots, finches such as zebra finches, Gouldian macaws and canaries .

In terms of animal nutrition, cocksfoot is also an interesting option for rodents, parakeets and parrots. Many of these animals can benefit from the tender cocksfoot seeds. Gut zum verlängern des Alltagsfutters.

Ich nehme es zum Strecken des Futters. Es soll mehr Ballaststoffe haben. Gebe ich den Wellis nur 2 TeeLöffel Alltagsfutter' pro Tag und Vogel (das ist die von unserem Tierarzt empfohlene Dosis), fangen sie am Nachmittag an zu schreien. Wenn ich das Futter mit Knaulgras aupeppe und 2,5 gehäufte Teelöffel gebe, können sie damit umgehen. Zu dick sind sie trotzdem und trotz ganztägigem Freiflugs :( - vllt. sind unsre Teelöffel zu groß? ;) Es sollte mit Knaulgras immer viel Wasser angeboten werden!

Suchtgefahr!

Ohne Knaulgras geht gar nichts! Wir geben ein paar Löffel in ihre Wühlkiste (mit Buchenholzeinstreu gefüllt) und sie sind lange beschäftigt. :-) Abends gibt es ein bisschen Knaulgras in ihre Schälchen und die sind verrückt danach!
