The complete feed consists of 42 % meal-containing seeds, 39 % oil-containing seeds, 4 % grass seeds, 4 % flowers, 3.5 % fruit, 3 % herbs, 3 % minerals and 1.5 % vegetables. A basic supply of oyster shell grit has already been included in the mixture. The pearly shimmering shells are broken into beak-sized pieces so that they can be ingested together with the feed.
The high proportion of oily seeds is largely made up of high-quality (non-)herbal seeds, which provide the bird with essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Fennel seeds, for example, are a traditional remedy for treating mild gastrointestinal complaints and also have an antimicrobial effect.
The main food for large parakeets with Energy Plus covers the majority of the daily requirements of birds in outdoor aviaries, as it contains a colourful mixture of grass seeds, flowers, herbs and vegetables in addition to seeds containing flour and oil. Nevertheless, we recommend regularly supplementing the complete feed with fresh feed and mineral and vitamin supplements to provide the birds with the best possible nutrition.

Feeding recommendation2-3
teaspoons per day per bird. Supplement regularly with fresh feed and minerals as required. Please take into account the respective requirements of the different species. It is essential to adjust the feed requirements for sick birds and birds during the rearing of young animals and discuss them with an avian veterinarian.Our tip
Please check the weight of your birds regularly and adjust the daily feed quantity accordingly. An annual health check by an avian vet is also recommended. Also remember to provide fresh water (several times) a day!
