The Jerusalem artichoke drops are 2 cm - 4 cm long pieces, cut
from the stalks of the Jerusalem artichoke plant. The Jerusalem artichoke stalks are coated with linseed, broccoli or beetroot for even more snacking fun.
The healthy snack is suitable for all rodents such as hamsters, rats, mice, chinchillas, degus and rabbits as well as parakeets and parrots.
The stems of the Jerusalem artichoke are softer than wood. This is because Jerusalem artichoke is a perennial whose stems can grow up to three metres tall. The upper part of the Jerusalem artichoke dies back in autumn and sprouts anew the following spring. The nibbles of the Jerusalem artichoke plant are therefore a natural resource that grows back quickly.
The dried stems fray when gnawed by rabbits, guinea pigs and other larger rodents and then act like a natural toothbrush on the teeth. Birds use the drops to clean their beaks.
Furthermore the nibbles of Jerusalem artichoke contain lots of vitamins and fibre, which aid digestion.
