Field bean flakes

Broad beans belong to the vetch genus. They can be found under a variety of names: Field bean, Broad bean, Sow or Pig bean, Faba or Faber bean, Cattle bean and Broad bean.

Our field bean flakes are dried and crushed. In addition, these field bean flakes are gently heated (micronised), which is done by means of infrared. This means they are broken down and very easy for rodents to digest. The field bean flakes are a healthy treat for rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, hamsters, chinchillas and degus.

The seeds of the field bean contain 40-50 % carbohydrates, 25-30 % protein and 1-2 % fat. Thus, field bean flakes belong to the protein- and starch-containing (floury) individual components. In the dried state, field bean flakes can be stored for a long time without further preservation. The flaked field beans are available as a single component in five packaging sizes and as a mixed component in our mixer.
