Dried herbs and leaves

are important ingredients in the diet of chinchillas and degus
Hey you!

If you have a guinea pig, rabbit, degu or chinchilla, you surely know how important a balanced diet is for your little rodents. A good way to give your chinchillas or degus variety in their diet is with dried herbs and leaves.

Herbs like parsley, dill, cilantro and chervil are not only delicious for your guinea pigs and rabbits, but also contain many important nutrients like vitamins and minerals. These can strengthen the immune system of your chinchillas and degus and help them stay healthy.

Leaves such as dandelion, nettle and raspberry leaves are also great additions to your guinea pigs' and rabbits' daily diet.

When buying dried herbs and leaves, make sure they are of high quality and preferably unsprayed. The right amount is also important: for example, do not give your rabbits too many herbs and leaves at once, as this can lead to digestive problems. On the other hand, chinchillas and degus can have more, as they already feed on them in nature.

Herbs and leaves are also great as a reward or snack between meals. You can simply cut them into small pieces and offer them to your animals as a treat.

So, if you want to spoil your guinea pigs, rabbits, degus or chinchillas with a healthy and varied diet, you should definitely consider dried herbs and leaves. Your little rodents will thank you for it!
