Sorghum millet | Dari flask, black

The sorghum millet is also known as daricob. Sorghum is a tasty and above all healthy snack for rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, mice, chinchillas and degus. But also larger parakeets and parrots love the large grains of this millet species.

The annual meadow grass reaches heights of up to 5 metres. The structure of the plant is similar to maize. The leaves are arranged in two rows on the approximately 1.5 cm thick, pith-filled culm. The round millet grains have a diameter of 4 to 8 mm and can be white or black, depending on the variety.

Sorghum millet consists of 70 percent starch, so it is a good source of energy. In addition, the dari cobs contain a lot of protein and fibre, so the grains are filling for a long time and are easy to digest.
