Cockatiels Berries & Blossoms

The balanced mixture with lots of berries and flowers is based on the food requirements of free-living cockatiels. Cockatiels are found almost all over the Australian continent and roam as nomads. In their range they feed on seeds, pips, berries and plant parts such as flowers. The seeds of various grasses play a very important role in their diet. We have taken this into account in the composition of this feed mixture.

In pet keeping, birds move much less, but their urge for constant foraging remains. The premium food with reduced energy content helps cockatiels in home keeping to maintain their weight. The feed consists of 43% floury seeds, 21% grass seeds, 18% high quality oily seeds, 7.5% flowers, 6.5% berries and 4% herbs.

In addition to the high proportion of grass seeds, blossoms, berries and herbs, high-quality oily seeds are added to the feed. Fatteners such as sunflower seeds have been omitted. Instead, smaller seeds of herbs and weeds are included, which score points with a variety of vitamins, amino acids, minerals and trace elements.

Our tip

Please check the weight of your birds regularly and adjust the daily feed amount accordingly. It is also advisable to have an annual health check-up with an avian veterinarian. Remember to give your birds fresh water every day!
