When selecting the flowers, we were guided by the effectiveness of medicinal plants. Hop blossoms, for example, are said to be effective against restlessness, coneflower to strengthen the immune system and horsetail to detoxify. Marigold flowers and camomile flowers are said to have wound-healing and anti-inflammatory properties.
Plantain, parsley and raspberry leaves are readily eaten and make the mixture irresistible to rodents. The supplementary food can be added daily to the basic food mixture.
