Grass seeds are part of the natural diet of pink cockatoos in the wild and are therefore present in large quantities in this mix. The mix contained here is made up of various fescue grasses, but also Delicha and Pagima Green. Delicha are untreated grass seeds. This robust type of grass seed originally comes from Uganda. Their coarse structure makes the grass seeds interesting and they have to be worked out by the birds. Delicha is rich in vitamins and fibre and easily digestible. Pagima Green, on the other hand, is a particularly fine grass seed. The small grass seeds keep the birds occupied for a long time. Because of their low energy content, grass seeds are particularly suitable for pink cockatoos, which tend to become obese quickly.
Herbs and flowers are also on the menu of wild cockatoos. Therefore, they are also abundantly represented in this mixture. Eucalyptus in particular is of great importance to the birds: in Australia, pink cockatoos breed in the eucalyptus tree. Eucalyptus leaves are bactericidal and therefore have a health-promoting effect.
