Pink Cockatoos Vegetables & Berries

The food mix with vegetables and berries is designed for the food specialist pink cockatoo. Pink Cockatoos tend to become overweight quickly if fed incorrectly. Our special mix therefore contains extra grass seeds, various small-grained millet types as well as herbs and herb seeds. The feed is composed as follows: 34.5 % floury seeds, 30.5 % oily seeds, 20 % grass seeds, 6 % vegetables, 6 % berries and 3 % herbs.

Despite the meagre diet that the pink cockatoo needs, we like to spoil our animal favourites. Therefore, we have added low-sugar and low-fat vegetables and berries to the mix. This ensures variety in the bowl without too much energy-rich food being consumed.

When selecting the vegetables and berries, we also paid attention to their health benefits: The chillies contained have an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect, the eucalyptus leaves have antibacterial properties and the berries are said to have various healing effects, such as a detoxifying effect, as well as a high vitamin C content. At the same time, berries are considered low in sugar compared to other types of fruit.

Feeding recommendation1-2

tsp per day per bird. Supplement daily with fresh food.

Our tip
Please check the weight of your birds regularly and adjust the daily feed quantity accordingly. It is also advisable to have an annual health check-up with a veterinarian who knows birds. Also remember to give them fresh water (several times) a day!
