In the wild, grey parrots mainly feed on fruits and plant parts, such as buds, flowers and seeds. Our feed mix takes this into account and supplements the components with carefully selected seeds. The mixture does not contain greasy sunflower seeds. Instead, it contains many small-grained and valuable oil seeds that have a positive effect on the organism. Milk thistle seeds, for example, are used to protect the liver and the vitamin E contained in pumpkin seeds has an antioxidant effect.
The various nuts are particularly popular. They are also true superfoods: walnuts, hazelnuts or sweet almonds contain many minerals and trace elements. The food-grade peanuts in the mix are shelled and broken to minimise the risk of aspergillosis.
Exotic fruits and berries, such as bananas, sultanas, papaya or mango, round off the feed and make it a taste experience for grey parrots. In order to regulate one-sided food selection and minimise its health consequences, it is recommended to feed according to the actual needs of the animals as well as to give them sufficient fresh food every day.

Feeding recommendation
Our tip
Please check the weight of your birds regularly and adjust the daily feeding amount accordingly. It is also advisable to have an annual health check-up with a veterinarian who knows birds. Also remember to give them fresh water (several times) a day!
