Large Parrots Base Mix
This basic mixture is designed for cockatoos, grey parrots and macaws of normal weight and provides the keeper with a basis for his own food mixtures. Depending on the species, the basic mixture can be supplemented with various feed components, such as grass seeds, fruits and berries, vegetables or herbs. The basic mixture contains 52 % oil-containing seeds and 48 % flour-containing seeds and is not a complete feed. Supplement daily with fresh food and minerals according to the species.
When selecting the seeds, we paid attention to components that are readily accepted by most large parrots. Sunflower seeds, for example, contain polyunsaturated fatty acids as well as an amazing amount of good protein, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron and various B vitamins. Buckwheat also contains high-quality proteins, B vitamins and minerals.
