Large parakeets Berries & flowers
The main food with berries and flowers is designed for feeding large parakeets from the Asian and Australian distribution area. These include, for example, the king parakeet, the Alexander parakeet and grass parakeets (Neophema). However, this fruity and flowery mixture can also be fed to South American large parakeets, such as the sun conure.

The main food mixture for large parakeets consists of 38.5 % flour-containing seeds, 27.5 % oil-containing seeds, 14.5 % fruits & berries, 11.5 % flowers, 6 % grass seeds and 2 % vegetables. When selecting the flowers, we favoured those that are said to have positive health effects.

Marigold flowers, for example, contain flavonoids, which have anti-inflammatory properties. The petals also have a germicidal effect. Sunflower blossoms are said to counteract upper respiratory tract infections such as colds and strengthen the immune system. Red clover, on the other hand, is said to have a cell-protecting, anti-inflammatory and blood-purifying effect.

Rowan berries, also known as mountain ash berries, belong to the pome fruit family and look like small apples. They are rich in vitamin C and vitamin A and contain minerals such as calcium and potassium. Rowan berries are also very important ecologically for the local birdlife. All the more reason to offer them to our house eagles!
