The complete feed consists of 42 % meal-containing seeds, 39 % oil-containing seeds, 4 % grass seeds, 4 % flowers, 3.5 % fruits, 3 % herbs, 3 % minerals and 1.5 % vegetables. A basic supply of oyster shell grit has already been thought of in the mixture. The pearly shimmering shells are broken into beak-sized pieces so that they can be ingested together with the feed.
The high proportion of oily seeds is largely made up of high-quality (un)herb seeds, which supply the bird with vital amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Fennel seeds, for example, are a traditional remedy for treating mild gastrointestinal complaints and also have an antimicrobial effect.
The main feed for large parakeets with the Energy Plus covers most of the daily requirements of birds in outdoor aviaries, as it contains a colourful mixture of grass seeds, flowers, herbs and vegetables in addition to seeds containing flour and oil. Nevertheless, we recommend supplementing the complete feed regularly with fresh food and mineral and vitamin supplements to provide the birds with optimal nutrition.

Feeding recommendation2-3
tsp per day per bird. Supplement regularly with fresh food and minerals as needed. Please take into account the respective requirements of the different species. Urgently adjust the feed requirement for sick birds and birds rearing young and discuss with an avian veterinarian.Our tip
Please check the weight of your birds regularly and adjust the daily feed quantity accordingly. It is also advisable to have an annual health check-up with an avian veterinarian. Also remember to give them fresh water (several times) a day!
